My Journey In 2020…
Don’t you think 2020 will always remain a remarkable year?
The COVID-19 pandemic has completely taken over this year… nobody would have in their wildest dreams, thought that they would have to lock themselves inside their homes for one full year. ..
Worse than that, my heart goes out to all those innocent people who either lost their lives or had to bid goodbye to their very dear ones…
How was your experience with 2020? Extremely sorry if you’ve lost anyone…
However, for me, by God's grace, 2020 was not challenging… The only challenge for me was staying at home and hoping that the situations get better. I was in my final year Master's degree, due to the sudden lockdown, my exams got postponed and I wasted six months in this process… This was a big loss for my generation, as it was a huge break to our career building, at a very crucial point… However, people have suffered worse…
Initially, this phase was very difficult to accept and adapt to, but eventually, things started feeling normal.
This pandemic has taught us many life lessons… We, humans, realized how temporary and uncertain everything is… No matter how big plans you have, you never know what can come in between. This pandemic made humans stronger to face any situation with unity. We realized nobody is the boss here… We understood the importance of friends and family and all other relations that we always took for granted… Isn’t it?
Thankfully, I was living with my parents, so I was not forced to live alone. During the lockdown, however, I realized how long-distance relationships work. Me and Dhruv, live in the same city, but we could not meet for four months. This was quite challenging because I was used to seeing him every weekend…That’s when I realized if you truly love someone, being apart and not getting a chance to see them, does not make things fall apart. The love keeps growing…
Good news! I got my first job in 2020. I had always wanted to become a lecturer, and I couldn’t say no to this job, which was exactly what I had been searching for. It was an online teaching job and it changed my life. It made me independent and more confident. It made me utilize my time effectively planning the sessions and working on my personality development.
I used this quarantine time to explore myself… I set myself a proper routine and started drawing and painting, my all-time favourite hobby, for which, otherwise I wouldn’t make time. I opened an art page on Instagram and posted my paintings. I learnt cooking and made it a point to cook at least two dishes per week.
So for me, this year 2020 was not very difficult and it taught me the value and importance of so many tiny things that we, humans have taken for granted. Guys, how was your 2020? Do share your stories…
